Divisions Brewster Little League DIVISIONS
Tee Ball: For
5–6-year-olds who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and
fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit off a batting tee. The primary goals
of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and
to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.
Farm Baseball/Softball:
Consists of
9–12-year-olds with intermediate skills and some experience in playing
organized ball. This expands on the development of fundamentals and
involves competitive play. Eight-year-olds wishing to play at the
Farm level must try out or they will automatically be assigned to the
Boys “Super 8’s” Division. It is recommended that most 8-year olds
play in the “Super 8’s” division. 11- and 12-year-olds playing in Farm
are not eligible for the Majors All-Star team.
Majors Baseball/Softball:
Generally
comprised of 11- and 12-year-olds; however, 9- and 10-year-olds may try
out for the majors division. This division is for those players with
established skills and experience in playing organized baseball. Players
should exhibit strong fundamentals of the game. This level involves
advanced competitive play. This is the highest level of baseball in
Brewster Little League. Once a player has been drafted to a Majors level
team, they do not need to try out the following season(s); they will
remain with this team for the duration of their playing time at the
Majors level.11- and 12-year-olds in the Majors are eligible for the
All-Star team. Juniors Baseball/Softball: Comprised of 13- and 14- year olds. This division is for those players with established skills and experience in playing organized baseball. Players should exhibit strong fundamentals of the game. This level involves advanced competitive play. Games are played on a regulation size field. Seniors Baseball/Softball: Comprised of 15- and 16- year olds. This division is for those players with established skills and experience in playing organized baseball. Players should exhibit strong fundamentals of the game. This level involves advanced competitive play. Games are played on a regulation size baseball field. Challengers Division: This division is for those players who are physically challenged and want to enjoy the benefits of organized baseball. Boys and girls ages 6 - 18 are teamed up to compete. Special equipment is available to assist those who may need it. Games are played on the weekends at Scolpino Park.
