Composite Baseball Bat Information

For the Little League (Majors) and below, for regular season play and Tournament, composite bats are prohibited unless approved by Little League International. View the list of approved and licensed composite bats.

All composite-barreled bats for use in the Junior League and Intermediate (50/70 Majors) Baseball Divisions must meet the BBCOR standard. This is the implementation of the rule Little League provided in the rule books starting in 2010.

For more detailed information, please visit the Little League Baseball Bat Regulation page.

NOTE REGARDING SOFTBALL BATS: The composite moratorium only applies to baseball bats with 2 1/4 inch barrels. It DOES NOT apply to any divisions of Little League Softball. Also, there is no list of approved softball bats. In softball, the bat only needs to meet the specifications of Rule 1.10 (see rulebook) for a softball bat.
